Cecil Burton Ashworth

ASHWORTH, CECIL BURTON - Following a long illness, Cecil Burton Ashworth passed away at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on October 4, 2012. Born in Anfield, NB, on January 1, 1932, he was the son of the late Guy and Madeline (Watson) Ashworth. Cecil leaves behind his wife Mary Ashworth (Pickard); daughter Lana Tompkins (Charlie) of Anfield; his sons Allen Ashworth (Kelly) of Oshawa, ON, Peter Ashworth of Perth-Andover, Andrew Ashworth (Brenda) of Anfield; stepdaughter Nancy Ryan (George) of Stanley, NB; stepsons Eric Sparkes of Fredericton, Jim Sparkes (Cathy) of Stanley, NB; his sisters Edyth McGlynn of Bermuda, Eileen Forbes of Fort Fairfield, ME, Marguerite Cahoon (Richard) of Boston, Mass; his brothers Hugh Ashworth (Rosemary) of Richmond, BC, Neville Ashworth of Anfield; special nephew Robert Ashworth of Vancouver Island, BC; 12 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and one step great grandson. He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife Anna Ashworth (Wheeler), brothers Claude and Ralph Ashworth, sisters Kathleen McCue and Alice Linton.
Resting at the Tobique Chapel with visitation on Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 2 pm from the Tobique Chapel. Rev. Steve Longmoore officiating. Interment will be in Linton Corner Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations donations to St. Andrews United Church, the Canadian Diabetes Association, or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock.
