Arcade "Archie" LeBlanc

LEBLANC, ARCADE “ARCHIE” - Arcade “Archie” LeBlanc, of Shediac, at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre at the age of 85, on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. Born on January 8, 1927 in Moncton, he was the son of the late Edouard and Léa (Drisdelle) LeBlanc.
Archie, with his young family Simonne, Joanne and Jacques leaves his position at l’Évangeline to accept a post at the Queen’s Printer in Hull where Luc, Thérèse and Guy are born. After more than thirty years of service to the Federal government of Canada, Archie retires and in 1998 returns to his beloved Acadie to settle in Shediac where he takes up his favorite pastime on the golf course. He is survived by his wife, Simonne (Leger); two daughters: Joanne Skyrie (Dave) of Grand-Barachois and Thérèse LeBlanc (Louis Lefebvre); two sons: Jacques (Chantal Closson) and Guy (Hélène Lefebvre) all of Hull, QC; two brothers: Eugène (Thérèse) and Donald (Alva); two sisters: Beatrice Savoie et Marguerite Laplante; five grandchildren: Marika, Alexis, Brigitte, Simon (Catherine Malette) and Philippe (Danyka Gauthier); a special friend of the family’s, Caroline Bérubé, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a younger son, Luc (1956); five brothers: Emery, Camille, Léandre, Ernest and Raymond, and a sister, Doris Peters.
There will be no viewing by request. Funeral service will be celebrated at St. Joseph R.C. Church, Shediac on Friday, Octobre 12, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. Following the Funeral a reception will be held at the pastoral center, Shediac. In memory of Arcade, a contribution to the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont (oncology) would be appreciated. Cremation and funeral arrangements under the direction of Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main Street, Shediac, N.B. E4P 2G1 (532-3297).
