The death occurred peacefully at Prince County Hospital, Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, of Fred Cormier of Summerside and formerly of Fernwood and Seven Mile Bay, in his 81st year. Husband of June (Sherry) Cormier and loving father of Mary-Beth (Corey) MacDonald, Augustine Cove. Special grampie to Emily and Connor. Survived by his sisters Margaret McCormack and Rita Oster. Also by his sisters and brothers-in-law Bruce McCormack, Jackie Newcombe, Ian Lockerby, Margaret (Mark) Bowness, George (April) Sherry, Thomas (Nancy) Sherry, Rita (Joe) Clow, Michael Sherry, Gerard (Stacy) Sherry and Paul (Darlene) Sherry. Predeceased by his parents Bert and Matilda (Wedge) Cormier and brother Willie; father and mother-in-law Brendan and Vera Sherry; brother-in-law Doug Oster; sisters-in-law Marilyn in infancy, Carol McCormack, Cheryl Newcombe and Angela Lockerby. Lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Resting at Lawless Funeral Home, Kinkora, with visiting hours Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Seven Mile Bay, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. Knights of Columbus will hold prayers at 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Fred’s memory to Prince County Hospital or St. Peter’s Cemetery Fund. Due to allergies please refrain from wearing all scents.
