George John Brahniuk was born in Turysyk, Poland on October 17th, 1926, he passed away on October 8th, 2012 in Nanaimo, B.C. at the age of 85, and his 86th birthday would have been on October 17th. He is survived by his wife Victoria, two sons Ken and Randy, daughter Valerie, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. George and Victoria were married for 61 years with their anniversary date on October 21st, a marriage truly meant to be, even their birth dates are on the same day – October 17th. George was a farmer in Paddockwood, Saskatchewan for many years, retiring to Nanaimo in 1998.
Funeral service for George will be held on Saturday October 13, 2012 at 10:00am at Telford’s Funeral Chapel 595 Townsite Road, Nanaimo with Father Waldemar officiating. Followed by inurnment at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens.
