Callahan, Irene Idella, 96 of MacDonald Street, New Glasgow passed away October 14, 2012 at home with her loving family by her side.
Born April 17, 1916 in Mahone Bay she was a daughter of the late Roger and Jenny(Joudrey)Tanner.
Irene loved the outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, picking blueberries or just walking in the woods.
She will be sadly missed by her family.
She is survived by her children, a daughter Sharon(George)Gunton, Dunnville,Ont; sons, John(Linda), Wayne(Ella) and Roger all of New Glasgow; grandchildren, Sherry(Joe)Rogers, Paula(Brad)Pitts, Shelley(Anthony)Greencorn, Lisa(Jason)Smith, Herather Callahan, Jim(Linda)Chambers, Dale(Alana)Chambers, John Callahan Jr., Joe(Suzanne)Gunton, Michael Gunton, George(Kim)Gunton, Roger CallahanJr., David Callahan, 15 grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, half sister Viola (Eddie)Venoit, Lucilia(Lloyd)Groswald, step-sister Myrtle Melanson.
She was predeceased by her husband John, daughter and son-in-law Marg and Jim Chambers, grandson Gregory Chambers, brothers Harold and Walter, half brothers Bill, Harold, Percy, Vernon and a half sister Vivian.
Cremation has taken place.
There will be no visitation or services at the request of the family.
