JAMIESON, EDGAR "JAMIE" - It is with sadness the family of Edgar Ross “Jamie” Jamieson, MM announces his death at the Veterans Health Unit on October 13, 2012. He was 95. Edgar was born to the late Wilmot and Lelia (Blaney) Jamieson on October 29, 1916 in Prince William Station, NB. Edgar lived his live giving attention to detail, evident in his 25 years of working as a surveyor for the Department of Natural Resources and his work as a free lance surveyor after his retirement in 1979. His eye for detail was brought to light in his rose garden as he was recognized in the Exhibition Shows in Fredericton and Saint John. His attention to detail was no doubt learned while he was serving his country in the WWII with his comrades from the Carleton and York Regiment, his acts of bravery and determination earned him the Military Medal. Edgar will be missed by his sons, David (Pat) of Kelowna, BC, and Michael (Jocelyn) of Bay Du Vin, NB; his daughter, Debbie (Scott) Northrup of Fredericton, NB; his brothers, James (Dorothy) and Orvis (Norma) both of Ontario; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Along with his parents, Edgar was predeceased by his wife, Pauline; brother, Gordon and sister, Blanche Godsoe.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Veterans Health Unit for their hard work and loving care that they gave to “Jamie”.
There will be no visitation by Edgars request. A graveside burial will take place at St. Stephen Rural Cemetery on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
