HECKLE, ALBERT A. - 1932 - 2012 - Miramichi - Albert Alolf Heckel, husband of Wilda Heckel, of Bramalea Avenue, Miramichi, passed away at the Moncton City Hospital, on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at the age of 80, following a brief illness. Born in Moetzingen, Germany, on July 31, 1932, he was the son of the late Hugo and Maria (Schweikert) Heckel. He was an educator by profession and retired as the first principal of the Miramichi Campus of the New Brunswick Community College. He was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Canadian Army in Canada. He is survived by his wife, the former Wilda Baker; three sons, Len Heckel (Catherine), of Calgary, AB, Larry Heckel (Lisa), of Calgary, AB, Kurt Heckel (Bonnie), of Halifax, N.S.; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Ella Stadtmetler (Tony) and Hilda Erge, both of Germany. He was predeceased by one daughter, Laurie Ann Hofman.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Tuesday only, from 2 to 4 pm. By Mr. Heckel’s request there will be no funeral service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors’ choice, would be appreciated by the family.
