Donald Thomas ‘Donnie’ Schaump, a resident of South Bar, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in South Bar, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Aucoin) Schaump.
Donnie is survived by his wife, Willena Schaump; sons, Donald (Michelle), Edmonton, Alta. and Patrick (Sherry), Toronto, Ont.; daughter, Christina, Halifax; sister, Shirley Wrobleski, South Bar; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Donnie was predeceased by his brothers, Michael and Bernie and sister, Isabelle Dingwall.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Saturday 11 a.m., with Rev. Paul MacGillivary officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the palliative care unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital or the SPCA.
