VINCENT, DORIS IRENE (nee CAIRNS) - Doris Vincent of Pointe Claire passed away, with her daughters by her side, on Saturday, October 27th at the CHSLD Bayview in Pointe Claire after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Loving wife of the late Dr. Donald L. Vincent. Cherished mother of Linda (Pierre Pelletier), Leslie (Keith Field), and David (Paul Melhus). Proud grandmother of Shauna (Jason Thompson), Cara (Sean Thompson), and Rob Pelletier (Marianne Gregoire), Paul, Karen, and Michael Field. Great grandmother of Charlotte, Liesl and Beatrix, and aunt to many nieces and nephews. Born in Saint John, N.B. in 1920, Doris was the daughter of Irene Seamans and DeWitt T. Cairns, and sister to Frances Kilcup, Stanley (Ruth Amirault), Constance (George Polley) and the late DeWitt A. Cairns. Doris was a graduate of Saint John High School, and worked as a secretary at George McKean & Co. Ltd in Saint John prior to marriage and starting her family. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Saint John, and later Lakeside Heights Baptist Church in Pointe Claire where she sang in the choir for many years. Music was important in her life. She studied voice and piano and sang in the Sweet Adelines (West Island Chorus). We will miss you Mom. You will always be in our hearts.
Visitation on Friday, November 2nd at 1:00 pm followed by a service celebrating her life at 2:30 pm. at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White funeral home 27 Salisbury, Pointe-Claire, Qc. www.dignitequebec.com Burial at Lakeview Memorial Gardens will follow. Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and caregivers at the Bayview. Remembrance, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
