Passed peacefully away on November 4, 2012 surrounded by her loving family, Maureen Miller of Portugal Cove, a war bride from Londonderry, Ireland, aged 88 years. Daughter of the late John and Mary Long, Maureen is also predeceased by her husband Harold (1990); brother John; sisters Nora, Bridey and Annie. Leaving to mourn with cherished and loving memories are her children: son Freeman (Joan (nee) Moore); daughters: Maureen (Chris Haines deceased) and Lorraine (Brian Neville); beloved grandchildren: Wanda (John Cooper), Michelle (Raymond Littlejohn), Rod (Cindy), Stephen (Stephanie), Scott (Nancy), Tracey (Keith Hanrahan), Michael (Christine), Darrin (Katie), Justin; her dearly loved great-grandchildren, special niece Vonnie as well as a large circle of family and friends. Fondly remembered as well by the members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 10 for her many years of dedication. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to take place on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. from St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Bauline Line Ext., Portugal Cove.
