The death occurred peacefully at the Souris Hospital on Friday, November 9, 2012 of Mortimer Mahar of Souris, age 88 years. Veteran of the Korean War.
Beloved husband of the late M. Bernetta Mahar. Loving father of Bev (Carl) Johnston of Hopewell Cape, NB. Survived by brothers, Arnold (Margaret) and Joe. Predeceased by brothers, Edward, James, Lorne, Leo; and sisters, Sr. Clementina, Sr. Elizabeth and Sr. Mary.
Resting at the Dingwell Funeral Home in Souris for visiting hours on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. and Monday, November 12, 2012 from 1 p.m. until funeral time. Funeral to be held on Monday afternoon to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Souris for funeral mass to be celebrated at 2 p.m. Interment in St. Alexis Cemetery, Rollo Bay.
If so desired, memorials may be made to St. Alexis Cemetery Fund or the Royal Canadian Legion Memorial Fund.
Members of the Royal Canadian Legion are asked to meet at the funeral home on Monday at 12:45 p.m. for Legion service.
