Phyllis Ward
It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Phyllis K. Ward, age 81, of Sackville, N.B.
Phyllis passed away peacefully at the Moncton City Hospital surrounded by her family on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012.
Born in Port Elgin, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Hibbert and Gladys (Turner) Chapman.
Phyllis was a long time member of the Midgic Baptist Church. She loved to knit, needle point, build puzzles and crochet, and many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren have benefited from these hobbies.
She will be dearly missed by her sons Jimmy Mills (Barb McAleer), Riverview, Larry (Kathy) Mills, Fredericton, Timmy (Lois) Ward, Sackville, Donald (Debbie) Ward, Sackville, Robert Ward Jr., Sackville; daughters Kathy (Darren) Wry, Sackville, Nancy Ann Ward (Leo Gallant), Campbellton, NB; 12 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; brothers Hedley, Sackville, Harris, Ontario, Ronald and Lester, both of Dorchester; sisters Birdie O'Blenis, Amherst, Doris Sterling, Windsor, ON, Shirley Hoar, Springhill, Oressa Sterling, Sackville, and Dianne (Winston) Allen, Bayfield.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1995, daughter Linda Mills, brother Roderick and grandchildren Larry MIlls Jr., Dustin Mills and Ashley Mills and daughter in law Mary Lou Barnes.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge St., Sackville, N.B, 506-364-1300, where visiting hours took place on Monday, Nov. 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral was held from the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at 2 p.m. Pastor Hal Lowther officiated. Burial followed in the Westcock Cemetery.
