POLLOCK, W. RUSSELL - 1924 - 2012 - The death of W. Russell Pollock of Chipman and recently Central New Brunswick Nursing Home, Boiestown occurred at the home Tuesday, November 20th, 2012 with family by his side. Born May 27th, 1924. Born in Kingscroft, NB; he was the son of the late Fred and Mary (Mae Harrison) Pollock. Besides his wife, Flora; he is survived by daughters, Edna Pollock, Fredericton and Marlene (Winsor) Underhill, Blackville; granddaughter, Holly Buyting, great – grandsons, Isaiah and Ryan Buyting, Fredericton and granddaughter, Shonna (Jonathan) Sturgeon, great granddaughters, Lauren and Lily Sturgeon, Several nephews and nieces. A very, very special friend Paul (Linda) Corey, Cambridge, Ontario. Donnie Small has been his best friend in later years. Being the last surviving member of his immediate family; he is predeceased by his parents, infant son Waldo Pollock, brother, Hazen (Clara Copeland), six sisters, Marion (Don) Ramsey, Ella (Walter Hasson), Annie (Rees Foulkes), Elizabeth (Mathias) Bostick, Lyda (Gerald) Daye and Edith (Garland) True. Russell married Flora July 14, 1949 and they lived in Midlands on the family homestead until December 1979 when they moved to Chipman. Russell was employed with Bishops Lumber and then the coal mines having retired from NB Coal in 1986. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America District 26, Local Union. He enjoyed working on the farm in Midlands and in 1979 moved to Pleasant Drive, Chipman where he continued to farm on a smaller scale. Russell was a great provider. He worked his farm to raise great vegetable gardens and grew hay for his animals. He occupied his winters by whittling and having sleigh rides at both locations.
The family will receive condolences at Hogg Funeral Services, 43 Main St., Chipman with visitation Thursday evening from 7 to 9 and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral Service will be at Christian Life Center 3PM Saturday, 24th, 2012. Family flowers only. Donations can be made to Christian Life Center Building Fund or Central New Brunswick Nursing Home. www.hoggfunerals.ca
