Dodge, Carolyn Leah, 71, of North River, Colchester County, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 in the Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Rodney and Helene (Horton) Harvey. Carolyn was a former nurse having graduated in 1961 from the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. She loved to knit, was a great cook and had a love for animals. Carolyn also loved gospel music, playing cards and was an avid baseball fan.
She is survived by her husband Jack; son Colin, North River; daughters, Krista MacLeod (Michael), Salmon River, Anne-Margaret Dodge, North River, Allison Dodge Avis (Alan), Waverley; grandchildren, Mitchell, Spenser, Jack; 2 great-grandchildren; brother Michael Harvey (Therese), Halifax.
No visitation by family request. Funeral service will take place on Saturday at 3:30 pm in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Rev. Jay Ettinger will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. Donations in Carolyn’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a charity of choice.
