CRAIG, MINERVA AVIS - At the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour NB, in her 101st year, on December 5, 2012, Mrs. Minerva Avis (Cross) Craig, wife of the late Mr. Ronald V. Craig formerly of St. George, NB. Born at Blacks Harbour, NB on January 30, 1912 she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Cora (Harmon) Cross. A loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Minerva is survived by two sons; Bill (Carrol) Craig of Rollingdam, NB and Paul (Brenda) Craig of Cumberland Bay, NB, one daughter, Mary Beaudry of St. George, NB, 10 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her loving husband Ron, she was predeceased by one grandson, Kevin Beaudry and by her siblings; Eldon Cross, Jenny Neilson and Mildred Mattatall. Minerva was a loving mother and wife who gave her time as a homemaker for her family. She enjoyed knitting and sewing and everyone in the local area is sure to remember her fondly for her amazing baking abilities.
Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium (755-3533), 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB from where the service will be held from The Gary E. Waycott Memorial Chapel on Friday at 2 pm with Rev. Basil Lowrey officiating, followed by the interment at the St. George Rural Cemetery. Visiting will take place at the funeral home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. In Minerva’s memory, donations to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
