Elizabeth Morton ‘Lizzie’ MacDonald, of East Broadway, Whitney Pier, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Oban, Richmond County, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Christy Ann (Murray) MacDonald.
Surviving are her sons, Carman (Effie) MacDonald and Winston (Melvina) MacDonald; adopted son, Earl; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Lizzie was predeceased by her husband, John D. MacDonald; brothers, Murdock D., Angus, and Kennie; sisters, Kaye Moore and Annie MacLellan.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday 10 a.m., with Majors Kent and Dena Hepditch officiating. Interment in Alfred Smith Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
