Age 53 years of Eastern Passage. Passed away peacefully December 28, 2012 at Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Whitbourne, Newfoundland, he is a son of Louise (Newhook) Thorne, Norman's Cove, NL and the late Raymond Thorne. Lloyd was a member of the Royal Canadian Navy and was honorable discharged after 30 years of service. Following his naval career he worked at H.M.C. Dockyard (Cape Scott). He loved to play golf and enjoyed working in his yard. He is survived by his loving wife the former Gertrude Lundrigan; son Jerry, as well as several brothers and sisters. He was predeceased by a daughter Pauline. The family would like to offer sincere thanks for all the prayers and support from our family and friends. Visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 - 9:00, Wednesday, January 2, 2013 in Eastern Passage Community Funeral Home, 5 Cow Bay Road, Eastern Passage. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013 in Christ Church, Cow Bay. Rev. Steve Laskey officiating. A service will be held at a later date in Norman's Cove.
