BOURQUE, Geneva Mary – 74, of Hubbard’s Point. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Geneva Bourque on December 28, 2012 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born March 14, 1938 in Hubbard’s Point, where she lived most of her life. Geneva was the oldest of eight children and at the age of 14 she left home to help provide for the family working as a homemaker. She was married at a young age and raised her sons, Milton and Percy and also took in nephew, Mike, to help raise. She had a passion for quilting and made many beautiful quilts for her family. She also loved bingo, but had done neither in the last few years. Geneva enjoyed going out to eat with her sisters and talking on the telephone. She will be greatly missed by her sons, Milton (Lorena), Wedgeport; Percy (Gaylene), Hubbard’s Point; nephew, Mike Wood (Joanne), Hubbard’s Point; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; brothers, Ted (Frances), Johnny (Margarete), Kenneth (Kay) Foster, all of Hubbard’s Point; sisters, Alice LeBlanc, Edna LeBlanc, Phyllis (Peter) Wood, all of Hubbard’s Point; Thereasa (Albert) LeBlanc, Wedgeport; many nieces, nephews and special friend, Lester Harris. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Marion (Melanson) Foster; husband, Leslie Bourque; common-law husband, Robert Bourque. Funeral arrangements were under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Homes Ltd., 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth, with visitation from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, January 1st, 2013 and prayers at 8 p.m. A funeral mass was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, Sainte Anne-de-Ruisseau, Father Albeni d’Entremont officiated. Internment was held in the parish cemetery following the service. Family flowers only.
