Henderson, Marilyn D. – Old Barns

Henderson, Marilyn Dawn – 79, Clifton, and formerly of Old Barns, passed away peacefully, on December 31, 2012, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Robert McNeil and Florence Pelton.
Marilyn dearly loved music, and sang in the choir at Old Barns United Church for more than 50 years. She was also an active member of the Old Barns U.C.W. and the Progressive Club.
Surviving are husband, Jim Blackburn; children, Janice Henderson (Doug MacInnis), Wolfville; Reginald (Kathy) Henderson, Scott (Susan) Henderson, both of Old Barns; Karen (Bruce) Perley, Antigonish; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Frank (Carolyn) McNeil, Michael (Carolyn) McNeil; sisters, Sandra (Barry) Mellish, Susan (Ralph) Gosby; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Reginald Henderson; sister, Mary; brother, Joe.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 3, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., with funeral service Friday, January 4, at 2 p.m., both in Old Barns United Church, with Rev. Ian Harrison officiating. The family will meet friends for a reception in the church hall following the service.
Burial will be in Old Barns Cemetery.
Family flowers only.
Donations may be made to Old Barns United Church Memorial Fund.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
