BANMAN, John age 88 of Swift Current, SK passed away December 18, 2012 at Swift Current, SK. The funeral service was held at 2:00 PM on December 29, 2012 from the First United Church with Rev. Sharon Ferguson-Hood Officiating. The Eulogist was a nephew Pete Wiens, the ushers were Gordon Klassen, Leonard Klassen, Robert Klassen and James Koehn. The interment service was held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gregory Banman, Russell Raybould, Robert Raybould, Matthew Raybould, Stan Klassen and Vic Klassen. John is survived by his son Robert (Patricia) Banman; granddaughters Barbara-Ann Banman, Roberta (Russell) Raybould; grandson Gregory Banman; great grandson's Robert and Matthew Raybould; and great granddaughter Elizabeth Raybould, step-brother Jake Banman, step-sister Ann (Banman) Coton, sister Mary (Banman) Klassen, half-sisters Kay (Kettler) Chaffins and Susuan (Kettler) Wendland, half-brother Jacob Kettler and sister-in-law Jean Kettler. John is predeceased by his father Jacob Banman; mother Anna (Olfert) Banman; step-father John Kettler; his wife Fay (Bonk) Banman step-sisters Sarah (Banman) Houghton, Nettie (Banman) Howes, Gertie (Banman) Davis, Helen (Banman) Grainger and Susan (Banman) Leal; step-brother Cornie Banman; half-sister Elsie (Kettler) Koehn; half-brother Peter Kettler, Henry Kettler, and James Kettler. And numerous aunts and uncles. John was born on February 18, 1924 in Chaplin, SK. He married Fay Bonk on June 6, 1943 at the First United Church in Swift Current, SK. He worked at Swift Current Flour Mills (1942-1944), Swift Canadian Co. in Moose Jaw (1944-1947), Horse Co-op Marketing Assoc. (1947-1948), Olfert Transfer and Herman's Transport (1949-1950), Canadian Pacific Railway (1951-1956) and Holmes Meats Limited (1956-1985). He was a member of the Eagles, The Canadian Wildlife Federation, the Red Cross and the S.P.C.A. He was an avid sports fan, he enjoyed making furniture and outdoor ornaments for around the yard and also find a word puzzle books. He loved fishing. John enjoyed holiday camping trips with family.
