After a long, courageous battle with cancer, Brendan passed away peacefully at the Rosedale Hospice in Calgary, Alberta, on January 13, 2013.
He leaves his devoted wife of 50 years, Phyllis (Dunn); and their children, Barry (Nadine), Karen (Dean), Lisa (JD), Melanie (James); as well as their grandchildren, Victoria, Sara, Erin, Holly, Nora, Brendan, Jack, Molly and Charlie. Brendan was the youngest son of Tom and Margaret (Curran), and is survived by his brothers, Clair (Mary), Tom (Marion); sisters-in-law, Stella Dunphy, Cecilia Dunphy and Adeline Fisher; brothers-in-law, Joe (Carol) Dunn and Brendan (Marlene) Dunn.
He was predeceased by Sister Janet Dunphy (CND) and brothers, John, Amos, Father Peter and St. Clair Fisher.
Brendan spent his adult career in the teaching field in P.E.I., NWT, Quebec and Alberta. He was very involved in his church and community outreach. He will be sadly missed by family and friends alike.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (Calgary, Alberta) on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 11 a.m.
