Heather Anne Kay Smith beloved wife of Mike Smith of Calgary, passed away on January 12, 2013 at the age of 55 years.
It is with great sadness that the family of Heather Anne Kay Smith announces her passing on Saturday January 12, 2013 at her home in Calgary Alberta after a courageous battle with cancer.
Heather was born in and grew up in Sackville, NB until she and Michael were married in New Zealand in 1985. They later moved to Calgary, AB where they lived with their two sons.
Heather was a passionate golfer and artist and a dedicated realtor. Heather’s passion for her two sons’ activities, sports and friends resulted in her being a second mother to many. Heather will be dearly missed by her extensive network of friends and coworkers.
Heather is survived by her husband Michael and her sons Dustin and Johnathan of Calgary Alberta. Also her mother Katherine Wells (Step-father Victor), sisters Wendy Sackville, Lori (Randy) Vancouver, brothers Jeff (Debi)Truro, NS and Jason (Jennifer) Riverview, NB, nieces Sarah and Megan and nephews Adam and Matthew, and brother-in-law Tim. Also, father-in-law JC Smith and brother in law Andrew (Bonnie) Halifax. She was very dedicated to her many aunts and uncles. Heather is pre deceased by her father Jack Kay and mother-in-law Allison Smith.
There will be a celebration of life in Calgary Alberta on January 19, 2013 at the Klapecki home, 1603 32 Ave NW from 2-5pm. There will be an internment to follow in the early summer at the Midgic Cemetary NB.
