DOUCETTE, Michael Jeffrey “Mike” – 20, Wedgeport, Yarmouth Co., was lost at sea on Saturday, January 12, 2013. Born in Yarmouth on May 6, 1992, he was a son of Charlene Doucette and the late Abbé Jean. Mike left us while doing what he loved most – working as a lobster fisherman. He was a 2011 graduate of École Secondaire de Par-en-Bas, after which he fished out of Digby, Yarmouth and Wedgeport. He was currently fishing aboard the Row Row. Mike was a strong and hard worker who will be remembered as an awesome friend with a mischievous twinkle in his eye, a great smile and an even greater sense of humor. He was a jokester and he loved to tease people. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting with all of his Browning gear, sport fishing and hanging out with his many friends at Boston Pizza. He loved life and lived it to the fullest and he will be sadly missed by his family, friends, co-workers. Aside from his many friends, Mike leaves behind his loving mom and friend, Charlene Doucette, who singlehandedly raised him to be a good man, as well as his sisters, Guylaine and Ginette and a brother, Michel, all of Caraquet, NB; maternal grandmother, Georgine Doucette, aunts, Gwen and Michelle, and uncles Jeff and Kevin, along with many cousins, as well as his girlfriend, Alana Hurlburt. He was predeceased by his father, Abbé ; his maternal grandfather, Mike Doucette and his uncle Peter Doucette. A funeral mass will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 23 at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, Wedgeport, Msgr. Gerald LeBlanc officiating.
