Albert Spencer

SPENCER, ALBERT THOMAS - 1927 - 2013 - Albert Thomas Spencer of Riverview, formerly of Coal Branch & Port Elgin, passed away with his wife and children by his side at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, January 17, 2013. He was a son of the late Charles and Suzanne (Pitre) Spencer of Coal Branch, NB. Albert retired from CNR as a Locomotive Engineer after 46 years. While living in Port Elgin, he was on the Town Council and Volunteer Fire Department. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodworking in his shop. An avid baseball fan, he enjoyed watching the games with his wife Doris. Albert was a loving husband and father, and a cherished grandfather and great grandfather. Albert will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Doris (LeBlanc); two daughters, Terry-Lynn (John) Rodobolski of Brantford, ON and Charlotte (Gerald) Melanson of Riverview, NB; three sons, Gary (Linda) of Summerside, PEI, Wallace (Norma) of Timber River, NB, and Kevin (Cathy) of Georgetown, ON; ten grandchildren, Michael (Lindsey), Craig (Emily), Tricia (Kris), Lori (Shaune), Nancy (Scott), Jennifer, Kristen (Adam), Tyler (Alisha), Samantha, and Chase; six great-grandchildren, Brendan, Michael, Matthew, Nikolas, Kassidy, and Nolan; four sisters, Annie Bell, Barbara (late Levi) Cormier both of Mass., Theresa (Ray) O'Brien of Dover, and Marlane Spencer of Rothesay, NB; two brothers, Norman (late Eleanor) of Ontario and Charles (Linda) of Coal Branch, NB; numerous nieces and nephews; godson, Albert Clavet. He was predeceased by his sister Colleen (Gerard) Clavet; two nephews, Gary Cormier and Alexandre Mollins. Albert's family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. E. McCaw and her team, Dr. Dow & the Staff of 4600 at the Moncton Hospital for the excellent care.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Chapel, 3 W. Main Street, Port Elgin (538-2241). At Albert's request, there will be no visitation. A funeral mass will be held at the funeral home chapel on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 11 AM. Burial will take place at St. Clement's Parish Cemetery in the spring. Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Albert may be made to a charity of your choice.
