
Rena Crossman
1915-2013
The death of Rena Eleanor Crossman, 97, formerly of Dorchester, occurred at the Drew Nursing Home, Sackville, on Friday, January 25, 2013, after a period of brief illness.
Born in Taylor Village, N.B., Eleanor was a daughter of the late Alvin and Edith (Munro) Taylor.
Eleanor had been a homemaker all of her life. She was a Dominion Life Member of the U.B.W.M.U.
She was an avid enthusiast of cryptoquote puzzles and her many talents included an expert skill in the art of needlework, including crocheting and crewel work.
She will be sadly missed by two daughters Rena (Wayne) Nickerson, of Westville, NS, and Edith (Wayne) Gillcash of Taylor Village, NB; grandsons Peter and Troy of Westville, NS; sisters-in-law, Doris Taylor, and Ina Cawdle; nieces, Edna Brewster, Daphne Francis, and Dulcie Langis; nephews, Colin, Gary, and Alfred Taylor as well as two special grand-nieces, Heather Walker and Holly Wynter.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Curtis Crossman in 2002, and three brothers, Alfred, Elsworth and Alvin.
Arrangements are under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300). Honoring Eleanor's request, there is to be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at The Fairhaven Memorial Gardens in the spring.
Donations in memory of Eleanor may be made to The Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, The Juvenile Diabetes Association, or a charity of one's choice.
