Kathryn McClary

McClary, Kathryn Margaret - 71, Collingwood and formerly of Grand Anse, Cape Breton, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2013 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst after a lengthy illness. Born in Kempt Road, Cape Breton, she was the daughter of the late Ronald and Annie (MacDonald) Ferguson. Kay loved the Lexicon, TV Bingo, card games and telephone visits with her friends. In her earlier years she worked at the Caledonia Hall in Grand Anse and the Richmond Motel in St Peters. She was known far and wide for her incredible cake decorating talents and more recently was a sales rep for Avon and Regal. Kay was known for her great kindness and her upbeat positive attitude never once complaining about her ever-declining health. She is survived by her husband, Larry McClary, Collingwood; brothers, Edwin (Gladys) Ferguson, Lower Sackville, Milton (Diana) Ferguson, Harwoodlands, Neil James (Bernice) Ferguson of Kempt Road, nieces Barb Sharples, Sherry Flemming, Bobbi Jo Hill, Betty, Belinda, Brenda and Annette Ferguson, step-niece Susie Dumaresq, nephews Ronnie, Joey, George, Jamie and Nelson Ferguson, life long friend Agnus Murphy, and her angel care-giver Michelle Lyness. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 2, from 1-2 p.m., followed immediately by funeral service at 2 p.m. at MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (447-2930).
