Hibbert W. Oulton, 93 years of age, of Northport, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at the North Cumberland Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lorneville he was a son of the late David & Etta (Goodwin) Oulton.
Hibbert worked as a mechanic all of his life. He loved antique cars and took great pride refurbishing all models. His pride and joy was showing off his Buick & Dodge. Hibbert loved Old Time and Bluegrass music. In his free time he loved to play the accordion. He enjoyed hunting and being in the woods.
He is survived by his wife, the former Doreen Greeno, daughter, Carolyn Ann Brine (Christopher) of Calgary; son, Rodger (Sylvia) of Northport, granddaughter, Amanda Lowther (Scott) of Saint John, great grandson, Bailey; three step grandsons, Keith, Chris & Brad; seven step great grandchildren and special nephew, Wilson Moore.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Susie; brothers, James "Jimmy", Ernest "Ernie"
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St. Amherst, NS (667-8777). The family will receive visitors at the Furlong-Jones Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 from 7-9 p.m and Thursday Feb 7 from 1pm - 2pm. A memorial service will be held at the Furlong-Jones Funeral Home on Thursday, February 7, at 2 p.m. with Ruth Gamble DLM officiating. Burial will take place in the Lorneville United Church Cemetery in the spring.
