ARCHAMBAULT ANDRE - Unexpectedly at the Charlotte County Hospital on Monday, February 4th, 2013; Joseph Alphonse Andre Archambault, husband of Edna (Swail) Archambault of St Stephen, NB. Born in Montreal, Quebec, he is the son of the late Sylvio and Desneiges (Martin) Archambault. A veteran of the Korean Conflict Andre served with the Canadian Armed Forces. Upon returning home in 1955 he married the love of his life Edna and spent 57 years together residing in 5 different provinces across Canada. In the late 1970's he was involved with bringing the original Vietnamese refugees into Eastern Canada. He was also very proud of the fact he had a hand in getting the Wood & Wardrobe in St Stephen started. He served as President of the Royal Canadian Legion St. Croix Branch # 9. He served on the River Street Apt. Council as President. As well as on the Board of Lincourt Manor. He was a longtime member of Oak Hill United Church. Surviving in addition to his wife Edna are his three sons David (Jane) of Oak Hill, NB, John (Marlyn) of Caledonia, Ont and Peter (Patricia) of Kemptville, Ont, four grandchildren Adrienne, Christopher, Matthew and Kaitlyn, a great grandchild Jacob, three brothers Guy(Shirley) of Sechelle, BC, Roland, Jacque and a sister Rejeanne Archambault, all of Montreal, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by brothers and sisters Irene, George, Jacqueline, and Lucien.
Resting at Humphreys Funeral Home, 20 Marks Street St Stephen, NB from where the service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, February 7th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will immediately follow in the Humphreys Funeral Home Community Room. The interment will take place in the spring in Oak Hill Cemetery. On the day of the service, in case of inclement weather please call the funeral home before venturing out. In lieu of flowers donations to the Charlotte County Hospital Auxillary or to the Charlotte County Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. On line condolences to the family or donations can be made at www.humphreysfh.com The family will receive friends at the funeral home during a time of visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Tribute to a Veteran service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.
