Léo Cormier

CORMIER, LÉO - 1926 - 2013 - Léo Cormier, 86, of Grand-Barachois, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital. Born April 26, 1926 in Shemogue, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mathilda (Leger) Cormier. Before his retirement, he worked at Moncton Chrysler Dodge as a mechanic for 35 years. He was a veteran of the 2nd World War having served with the Royal Canadian Army and he was a member of the Cap-Pelé Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by one daughter, Louise Bergeron (Louis) of Williamsburg, ON; two sons: Joseph (Thérèse) of Grand-Barachois and Gérald (Monique) of Calgary; three sisters: Mable Faggan, Émerise Cormier and Emma Cormier all of Port-Elgin; one brother, Fred (Jeanine) of Port-Elgin; two grandchildren: Eric Lavoie and Alex Cormier; one great-granddaughter, Elijah, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Augusta (Boudreau) Cormier (1983) and one sister, Rita.
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Centre, 396 Main Street, Shediac (532-3297). Visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, and Friday, from 9 a.m. until time of departure (10 a.m.). The funeral mass will be celebrated at St-Henri R.C. Church, Grand-Barachois, Friday, February 15, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. In memory of Léo, a contribution to the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation (Oncology) or to the St-Henri R.C. Cemetery, Grand-Barachois would be appreciated.
