Passed away at Moog & Friends Hospice House in Penticton, British Columbia on February 16, 2013. Petrus was born in the East Indies and went to University in Wageningen, Netherlands. He became a Soil Scientist and worked for the Department of Agriculture as a researcher. He was called the “Godfather” of soils in Newfoundland for 30 years. He was also a welder, carpenter and inventor, but first and foremost, he was a husband and father. He is survived by his loving wife Jopie; three sons: Pierre, Ian and Herman as well as 4 grandchildren: Joy, Joshua, Christina and Kayla. Petrus was predeceased by brothers: Jouke, Bill and Herman. Funeral Service will be held at the Everden Rust Funeral Chapel, 1130 Carmi Avenue, Penticton, on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with burial at Lakeview cemetery to be followed by a reception.
