MacDONALD, ALICE L. - 1929 - 2013 - Moncton - Alice Leitha MacDonald, widow of the late Robert G. MacDonald, of the Spencer Memorial Nursing Home, Moncton, and formerly of Black River Bridge, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at the age of 83, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Denmark, on April 2, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Johannes and Ida (Rasmussen) Jensen. She was a homemaker and a member of the Congregational Church. She is survived by three daughters, Karen DeVito (Henry), of Calhoun, Vonda Jensen, of Calgary, AB and Roberta MacDonald Glendenning (Alton), of Black River Bridge; one son in law, Dr. Dipak Jana, of Phoenix, Arizona, USA; one sister, Phyllis MacDonald, of New Denmark; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, in 2006; two daughters, Joy MacDonald and Tari Jana; three brothers, Lester Jensen, George Jensen and Max Jensen.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Saturday evening, from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Stephen’s United Church, Black River Bridge, on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at 3 pm, conducted by Penny Postlethwaite and Rev. Derek Krunys. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery, later in the spring. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Black River Community Cemetery Fund, or any charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated by the family.
