RAYNES, FLOYD - Floyd Donald Raynes, loving husband of Carol (Hansen) Raynes of West Saint John passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 24, 2013 with his family at his side. Born 1940 in Saint John, he was the son of the late Edison Floyd and Elsie Greta (Moore) Raynes. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his grandparents Charles and Mabel Moore and his great granddaughter Abbygail. Kent Building Supplies lost a pioneer. He was one of the longest serving associates and a real sales leader. He will be missed by his immediate family and his extended family at Kent. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and going to his camp with his canine companion Kasey. He will be missed by his loving wife of 49 years, Carol; children Cheryl Brooker (Ed) of Moosejaw, SK, Tina Gautreau (Gary) of Saint John and Mark Raynes (Crystal) of Saint John; cherished grandchildren Jessica Fox, Hannah Raynes, Meagan Gautreau, Rachel Brooker, Connor Raynes, Mitchell Gautreau, Kaylee Fox, William Fox, Joe Brooker and Krista Brooker; brothers Norman Raynes (Barbara) of Quispamsis and Keith Raynes (Stacey) of Saint John; sister Myrna Richardson (Wayne) of Browns Flat; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424) with visitations on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. followed by a reception at the funeral home.
