DOUCETTE, ERIC VINCENT - The passing of Eric Vincent Doucette, husband of Louise (Doiron) Doucette, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 7, 1949, in Charlottetown, PEI, he was the son of the late Vincent and Edna (Blacquiere) Doucette. In addition to his wife, Eric is survived by his children, Lise of London, ON, and Paul of Fredericton, NB; brothers, Barry (Kathleen) of North Rustico, PEI, Carl (Rhea) of Charlottetown, PEI, Bobby (Joanne) of North Rustico, PEI, and Leith (Tory) of Wheatley River, PEI; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Eric grew up in North Rustico, PE, and graduated from UPEI. He worked several different jobs, mainly in the transportation industry and most recently with the New Brunswick Department of Transportation and Infrastructure. Eric enjoyed helping others and volunteered with many organizations throughout his life, including the New Maryland Minor Baseball Association, the Special Olympics, Meals on Wheels, and several international and national sports tournaments held in Fredericton. Eric was predeceased by a brother, Allison; his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his mother and father.
Visitation will take place at McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York Street, Fredericton, NB, on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 from 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sts. John and Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 11am with Father Mark Trzop as Celebrant.
