It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the sudden passing of Marilyn Bell Monahan at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington Ontario, on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013.
She was the daughter of Beatrice MacDonald and the late Charles MacDonald.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Dawn (James) MacKinnon and Pamela Monahan; grandchildren, Gregory Piercy, Eddie MacKinnon, Devon Monty, Danah Monahan, Nikki Monahan and Nathan Piercy; siblings, Charlie (Nora), Jeanette (Roy) Young, Sharon (George) Sutherland, Olive (Eddie) Mah, Rita Morrison, Esther (James) MacKinnon, Joe (Laurie), Terry (Valerie), Rob (Geraldine), Donnie (Mary Lou), Judy (Gary) Boudreau, Selena (Tom) Woodworth, Margaret (Darryl) Dithurbide and sister-in-law, Doris MacDonald.
Besides her father, Marilyn was predeceased by her partner, John Nunes and brothers, Johnny and Jim MacDonald.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, from 7-9 p.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St. Sydney. A memorial service will be held Friday, March 1, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating.
