Passed away unexpectedly on February 19 in his home in Gibsons, BC.
He will be remembered by his wife Pat, son Scott, daughter-in-law Rosie, and daughter Cheryl. Doug was a lifelong volunteer. He was a proud member of the Saskatoon Kinsmen Club, a member of the Opticians Guild, and he served on both the city and Provincial Park and Recreations Boards while living in Saskatoon.
Doug and his wife moved to the Sunshine Coast in 1997. He loved life on the Coast where he curled, was a member of the Rotary Club, and where he played golf almost daily. He served the last few years on the board of the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club.
Doug will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A Celebration of Doug’s life will be held at the golf course on Tuesday, February 26, at 1 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Kinsmen Telemiracle (in SK), the Rotary Club of Gibsons or the Gibsons Volunteer Fire Department.
