Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex on Sunday, February 24, 2013 in her 97th year, Mary M. Furlong of Pouch Cove. Predeceased by her husband Jim and daughter Agatha; sisters Lillian, Jessie, Maude, Annie and Lucy; brothers Charlie, Jim and Alfie. Leaving to mourn with sadness, but also celebrating her long life, is daughter Marie (husband David Connors); son-in law Bernard Walsh; only grandchild Tamie-Lynn (husband Jamie White), St. John’s; great-grandsons Sam and Jacob; and sister-in-law Marie Strugnell, Torbay. Mary will also be missed by several nieces and nephews; special godchild Cecilia Furlong, roommate Mrs. Margaret Finn and care-givers at the Hoyles Escasoni Complex. Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, Torbay on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-9 p.m. A mass of the Christian burial will take place from St. Agnes’ Church, Pouch Cove at 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013. Interment to follow at St. Agnes’ Cemetery. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in her memory may be made to the St. Agnes’ Cemetery Fund.
