David George Payne

Passed peacefully into eternal rest at the Health Science Complex in
St. John’s, NL following a lengthy illness, David George Payne, formerly of Aquaforte, NL. Predeceased by his parents: Maude and William Payne, also sisters: Freda, Mildred and Vera; brothers: Charlie, Stanley (Navy veteran), Thomas; nephews: Tom Payne and Alex Rose; and grand-nephew Boyd Payne; and brother-in-law Michael Dalton. Leaving to mourn his passing with a lifetime of happy memories, Jean (nee Croft) his cherished wife of 48 years. Also nieces: Annette Melvin, Brampton; Claire Jane (Kumar) Sarkar, Scarborough, Ontario; special niece Freda (Henry) Lear, Ottawa, Ontario, Margaret (Cliff) Hynes, Labrador City, NL; Marina (Thomas) O’Keefe. Ferryland. NL; nephews: Arthur Payne (Doris) St John’s NL, Alex Payne (Myra), David and Philip Payne, Ontario; step-nephew Jack Payne, Aquaforte; sister-in-law Annie (wife of deceased brother Stanley); brother-in-law George (Margaret) Croft; sisters-in-law: Eleanor (Sandy) Powell, Madonna Dalton, Esther (Richard) Barrett, Mary Rose (wife of Alex Rose), Alberta, Many special friends in Aquaforte, St John’s and throughout Canada. Resting at Fahey’s Funeral Home, Fermeuse. Hours of visitation Tuesday, February 26 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 27 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, February 28 from 12 noon - 1:00 p.m. Funeral services to be held at the Anglican Church in Aquaforte at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2013. Interment will take place at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Aquaforte following the Church Service. Flowers or donations to the charity of choice graciously accepted.
