Passed away peacefully on February 22, 2013 in Mississauga in her 90th year. Predeceased by her husband of 20 years, Fred Riley. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her 3 sons Robert, Ron and Doug. Grandma will be sadly missed by her 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as other extended family and friends. Mom’s passing is a great loss to her love at the time of her death, Francis Tarjan, a wonderful gentleman and loving friend of 27 years. Noreen was born in St. John’s, Nfld., moved to Montreal in the 40’s and settled in Mississauga in the early 80’s. Mom was close with her two sisters Babs and Kay (deceased). Babs remained in Nfld., while Kay was closer in Toledo, Ohio. Mom and Kay would enjoy many weekends fishing for perch in Lake Erie. True Newfoundlanders! The family would like to thank Credit Valley Hospital for all the care they gave and for making Mom comfortable during her stay. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. March 9th, 2013 at Heritage Square in Meadowvale, ON. As per Mom’s wishes there will be no public service and any donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
