Passed peacefully away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Madeline Sheppard at the age of 93 years. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her children: Grace Gillingham, Hubert Sheppard (Olive), Frank Sheppard (Dulcie) and Don Sheppard (Lucille); grandchildren: Wanda, Leonard and Paul (Donna) Gillingham, Dion Sheppard (Betty), Donna Sheppard, David Sheppard (Samantha), Veda Brake (Randy), Todd Sheppard (Nancy), Maureen Coates (Cory), Claudette White, Perry Sheppard (Tracy), Pansy Blanchard (Ellis), Cory Sheppard (Tonya), Donnie, Brandy and Connie Sheppard; a large number of great grandchildren; sister: Doreen Murrin (Murdock, deceased); Cox’s Cove; brother: Joey Barnes, Ontario; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Eli Sheppard, 1996; parents: Francis and Grace Barnes; son Jimmy; grandson Jerome Gillingham; son-in-law Eric Gillingham; brothers: Reggie Barnes (Martha, deceased) and Foster Barnes; sister Jean Payne (Augustus, deceased). Friends and family may visit St. Nicholas Anglican Church in Cox’s Cove on Thursday evening from 7-9 and Friday 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. from where the funeral service will take place on Saturday, March 2nd at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Charlene Laing officiating. The interment will follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
