It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our dear and special mother on Feb. 26, 2013, at the New Waterford Consolidated Hospital.
Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Edith (Durando) Gatto.
Bina was a member of the former Mount Carmel parish, currently the Parish Church of St. Leonard. She was a good, loving and kind hearted lady who was a sincere and devoted mother to her six children. She loved them and her husband, Victor, dearly. Bina was a devoted Catholic and humanitarian; she loved all people, animals, and the Lord. She prayed daily and was known to help anyone in need. Bina was a kind and caring parent who taught her children well. She loved to cook, bake, knit and crochet. She also enjoyed flowers, namely roses, books, furniture and art, especiallly paintings and poetry.
Mom was a unique, special angel and if you looked closely, you could see her wings. Her lovely soul was full of love and light all the days of her life.
Surviving are children, Angela Roach, Sydney, Enrica ‘Rica’ (Todd) Pittman, Ontario, Stephanie (Peter) Rawus, Ontario, Gordon, Elaine and Elvio (Roxanne), all of New Waterford; sister, Velma (Michael) Albinyi, Guelph, Ont.; grandchild, Sheryl Roach; niece, Cheryl Roach, British Columbia.
Besides her parents, Bina was predeceased by her husband, Victor, brother, Guido and sister, Elda.
Visitation will be held Sunday, March 3 from 7-9 p.m and Monday, March 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will take place Tuesday, March 5 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Plummer Ave., New Waterford.
