Passed away surrounded by his loving family at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. Alphonsus Curtis, aged 83 years entered peacefully into eternal life on February 27. 2013. Predeceased by his loving wife Judith A. Curtis (October 8th, 2000), his parents Thomas and Sarah Curtis, his brothers Pat, Stan, Vince and his sister Sr. Angela Curtis PBVM, St. John’s. Grateful for the gift of his life and his unfailing strength and courage are his sons: Paul (Anna) Mission, BC and David (Brenda); his daughters: Jeanne (Bruce) Edmonton, AB and Tina (Adrian) Surrey, England; as well as his eight precious grandchildren: Avery and Matthew, Ellen and Anna, Katie and Abigail and Sara and Emma. He leaves to mourn and one sister Anne (Bill deceased) Battcock. Also blessed by his presence and left to mourn are numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, friends and his parish community of Mary Queen of Peace. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at Caul’s Chapel at a time to be announced. Inurnment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donation’s in his memory may be made to the parish of Mary Queen of Peace, Torbay Road, St. John’s, NL A1A 2G9.
