On Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, a beautiful and greatly-loved lady stepped into the presence of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She was surrounded by her family, and the wonderful staff of Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Mira Bay, who loved her as much as we did.
Lettie will always be remembered for her sweet smile and gentle spirit. She was a woman of The Word and Prayer. A help-mate to her late husband, Hugh, as they began the family business, MacDougall’s Transfer and Storage Ltd. For many years, Hugh and Lettie were members of the Gideons and the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Gideons, and through this organization, Lettie presented numerous copies of the little white Nurses Testaments at the students’ capping ceremonies. She was a faithful member and participant in all aspects of church life at Faith Baptist, of which she was the last charter member.
Lettie was predeceased by her husband, Hugh in 2005; brothers, Harry, Lou, George Henderson; sisters, Pearl Cole, Ruby Stewart.
Left to miss her so much are her sons, John (Chris), Bill (Glenna); daughter, Judy Munroe (Rod); brother, Emmerson Henderson; grandchildren, Kerrie Jean, Lori, Darren, Laurel, Alyson, Craig and Evan; great-grandchildren and even two great-great-grandchildren.
At Mom’s request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6 at Faith Baptist Church, 10 Davenport Rd., Sydney. Reception to follow in the lower auditorium.
Donations, in Lettie’s memory, can be made to the Gideons or the Faith Baptist Church Memorial Fund.
