At home with her family by her side, the death of Marilyn Hope Mellish (nee Smith), age 58, wife of Lloyd Mellish, occurred on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Montague on November 6, 1954 she was the daughter of the late Elliott and Marguerite (MacDonald) Smith. Besides her devoted husband of 38 years, she is survived by her loving children, Natalie McCarthy (Mike), David Mellish, Jeff Mellish (Cheryl) and Derek Mellish; sister, Ruby Smith; brother, Lionel Smith (Deloris); cherished grandchildren, Connor McCarthy and Luke Mellish; several nieces, nephews, and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her.
Resting at Ferguson-Logan Montague Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Visiting hours on Friday, March 1, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial donations to the Hospice of Southern Kings County or the Montague Home Care would be appreciated by the family.
