Passed peacefully away on February 27, 2013 at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, St. John’s, NL. Brother Charles Hugh Slattery, CFC, aged 85 years, son of the late John L. and Hilda (Kelly) Slattery, predeceased by his sister Alice and brother-in-law William Smith, and brother John. Leaving to mourn his brothers of the Congregation of Christian Brothers, his brother Joseph (Theresa) Slattery of North Bay, ON, sister Hilda (Babs) Stapleton (Ron deceased), brother Father Francis Slattery, sister-in-law Barbara and special niece Clare Smith, all of St. John’s; and many nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends. Special thanks to the staff and residents of St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for their care and companionship. Visitation at Mount St. Francis, 4 Merrymeeting Road, St. John’s, NL, Friday, March 1st, 7 - 9 pm, Saturday and Sunday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. A prayer service will be held Sunday evening 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 4th at 9:30 am at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Interment to follow at the Brothers’ plot Belvedere Cemetery.
