It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear father, Norman Courtney at Buchanan Memorial Hospital, Neil’s Harbour on Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013.
He was born in Cape North, Victoria County on May 5, 1919. Dad worked many years in the Dingwall Gypsum Quarry driving trucks and dozers. Dad enjoyed many hours on his beloved tractor in Courtney’s field, planting potatoes and cutting his winter’s wood. He would often arrive home with a pail full of berries. He was also known for the love of telling stories of his childhood, especially to the grandchildren.
