HAMILTON, DONALD - 1925 - 2013 - Donald R. Hamilton, 87, of Moncton passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 28, 2013 at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Saint John on September 11, 1925 son of Robert (Bob) and Stella (Byers) Hamilton. He retired from Dare Foods as district Manager in 1990. He enjoyed his outing to the Wildcats games with his son-in-law Norm, the Mets Baseball and Bowling. Don was a member of Legion Branch # 6 and UCT for many years. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Beatrice (Bea Colohan) Hamilton, his children Dianne (Jack) Smith of Oromocto, Roxanne Smith of Calgary, Mary Dawn (Steve) Babineau, Rick (Rose) Hamilton, Kim (Norm) Cormier, Janice (Ivan) Woods and daughter-in-law Donna Hamilton all of Moncton. He will also be sadly missed by one brother David of Saint John, eight grandchildren; Rick, Mike. Troy, Trevor, Kevin, Eric, Stephanie and Jennifer as well as eight great grandchildren, sister-in-laws Joan Celeste, Lois (Dave) Parlee and Helen Colohan, brother-in-law Raymond (Doris) Colohan, Lino Celeste as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Don was predeceased by his sister Irene (Donald) Ring.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home with visitation on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 7 to 9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5 at the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home at 11:00 am followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Don's memory may be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
