Pte. Jean Sharpe-Stockwood, Canadian Womens Army Corp, Newfoundland Group (C) Company – passed away at the Health Sciences Complex on February 28th, 2013. Jean Stockwood, age 90 years. Predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Cecil Wesley Stockwood, son Wayne “Ab”, son-in-law Melvin Inkpen, parents James and Alberta Sharpe (Lynch), sister Mollie, brothers William (Frances), Edward, Ambrose (Mary), Harry (Helen), Maxwell (Veronica), Gideon (Molly), brothers-in-law George Blakeney, Melvin, George (Annie), Clayton, Milton (Patricia) Stockwood. Leaving to mourn, daughters: Carol O’Reilly (John) Bedford, NS, and Beverley Inkpen, St. John’s; son Tolson (June Gaulton) St. John’s; daughter-in-law Catherine Daley, Goulds; grandsons: Todd O’Reilly and great-grandson Brandon (Bedford, NS), Shaun O’Reilly (Toronto, ON), Colin Inkpen and great-grandchildren Austin and Katy (Edmonton, AB), James Stockwood (Goulds); sisters: Ruby Kinch and Shirley Madery (Florida); brother-in-law Everett Stockwood (Mount Pearl); sisters-in-law: Evelyn Blakeney (Halifax, NS), Edith Stockwood (ON), Alice Stockwood (St. John’s), Carmel Sharpe (Paradise). Also many nieces, nephews, and friends. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Sunday, March 3, 2013, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service for Jean and Cecil Stockwood to be held from the Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on Monday, March 4, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
