John Carson MacKenzie
Lieu de naissance : New Waterford, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada
Date de naissance : 16 novembre 1941
Date de décès : 27 février 2013
John Carson MacKenzie was predeceased by his wife Helene on June 24, 2010, and he said that his heart broke in two that day.
It stopped beating on Feb. 27, 2013, in his 72nd year while he was living independently in his own home.
Carson is survived by his sons, Mikhail and John; his daughters, Leesa (Don Drury) and Colette (Gordon Southam); daughter-in-law, Tracey McCarthy; and son-in-law, Jorge Esqueda. He will be missed as the gentle, sweet “good father” who never failed to mention (numerous times during each conversation) how proud he was of them all.
His grandchildren, John Paul, Mikayla, Noah, Emily, Nathan and Izaiah can know that Grandpa/Papa/Carson thought each of them was a “marvel” and that he wanted to live to be 100-years old in order to watch each of them grow and develop.
Carson was predeceased by his parents, John and Frances, his elder brother, Edward and sister-in-law, Elaine.
He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Florine and Dorothy (Cyril Bates); and brothers, Bennett (Mabel) and Donald (Shauna). Memories of the time spent with his nieces, nephews, godchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law filled both his early and later years. Accordingly, he will be remembered not only as the ‘cool Uncle Carson’, but also as the ‘gentle spirit’ who would get down at eye level and have you feel that you were “just so important’.
While Carson and Helene raised their family in Ontario, they never forgot their home, friends and family in Cape Breton.
Cremation services will take place this week and the family appreciates your thoughts and prayers in support of such a wonderful life lived.
In lieu of a formal service, Celebrations of Life will occur regularly and spontaneously for Carson throughout the future, remembering that he just wanted all of us to be happy.
