Stanley Albert 'Binks' Kozera

We are broken hearted and deeply saddened to announce the passing of Stanley Kozera on March 1, 2013, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Born in Sydney on Feb. 23, 1928, he was the son of the late John and Johanna (Bokoslawski) Kozera.
Stanley was a member of St. Alban’s Church, Whitney Pier. A retired rigger with the Sydney Steel Plant, Binks was an avid bowler and golfer. Most of all Papa enjoyed being surrounded by his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 63 years, Hazel (Crane); sons, Stan (Elaine), Norman (Gerarda) and Paul (Carol), all of Sydney; grandchildren, Trevor, Beverly, Kenzie and Caitlyn. Also Grampa is survived by five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Last surviving member of his family, Stanley was predeceased by seven sisters, Mary, Winnifred, Nellie, Helen, Beatrice, Agnes and Josie, two brothers, Peter and Paul.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Sydney Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. in St. Alban’s Church with Rev. Brenda Drake officiating. Interment will take place in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Alban’s Church, Palliative Care Unit at Cape Breton Regional Hospital or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
