It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Beatrice Bridget Richardson, 99, on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Northside General Hospital, North Sydney, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Little Bras d’Or, she was a daughter of the late John James and Stella (Jessome) Swan.
Beatrice was a stay-at-home Mom who always enjoyed having her family and friends come visit. She will be missed by many in her neighbourhood.
Beatrice is survived by her daughters, Sharon Bishop and Christine Richardson, both of North Sydney; grandchildren, Gregory (Tammy), Jamie (Sherry), Amanda (Mike), as well as 11 great-grandchildren; her sister, Marguerite Corkery, Sydney Mines; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Richardson, her son, Gregory, brothers, Clifton, Din, John William, Stephen, Emmanuel, sisters Elsie, Frances, Mary, Eliza, Patricia, Emily and Catherine.
Visitation will be held 1-3 p.m. Tuesday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Carl Fraser officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
